Does anyone have recommendations for mic choice and placement for serpent recording? I'd like to keep from re-inventing the wheel if at all possible. Thanks _________________ J. Gabriel Stone |

I would avoid close micing, since the instrument would sound overwhelmingly breathy. Probably put the mic a good 8 feet or so away. Put mic higher than the performer(s), not low. _________________ Paul Schmidt

Thanks so much, I agree, I want to get as much room sound as possible. Thanks for the idea about mic'ing higher that'll save me some trial and error time I bet!
